AI-assistance policy

AI tools may assist with research organization, extraction, transcription, translation drafts, coding, comparison, summaries and writing drafts. They are not evidence sources and are not listed as authors.

Human responsibility

A named human editor is responsible for:

• the page job;
• source selection;
• numerical verification;
• causal language;
• quotations;
• legal and ethical concerns;
• publication;
• updates and corrections.

Required verification

Every AI-assisted factual claim, value, date, quote and citation is checked against a real source. Generated citations that do not resolve are removed. AI output cannot be used to invent consensus, interviews, credentials or first-hand reporting.

Current events

AI is not permitted to publish breaking/current economic claims autonomously. A human must verify exact date, source, status, prior value and update trigger.

Data and code

AI-generated transformations or code are tested against source values, schemas and known cases. The method and inputs are documented.

Disclosure

The site discloses meaningful AI assistance on its policy page and may add article-level disclosure when AI materially shaped a dataset, translation, analysis or visualization.

Confidentiality

Confidential sources, personal data, embargoed releases and proprietary licensed data are not entered into tools without authorization and appropriate security.
